We are delighted to have you join us and be a part of our community working to ensure all of our Olympia schools remain open.

OSD For All is not affiliated with any political party, political candidate, or any other organization. Our mission is to keep all schools open by addressing the real structural issues that must be fixed.

Every kid in our district & every family in our district should have the right and the opportunity to go to a school that meets their needs, exactly where they’re at.

English Version; Spanish Version; Press Release

“We kept looking at the numbers Superintendent Murphy was presenting and nothing was adding up. Many of us who participated in the CAC School Efficiency Committee had the same experience. We saw the projections, but we didn’t have access to all of the data we had asked for, and even the math we did get to see didn’t make any sense.

— Ben Higgins, parent of students at Boston Harbor Elementary and Reeves Middle Schools and CAC member

“One might think that receiving a letter from the PTA/O/SOs from 14 local schools would cause the School Board and Superintendent to realize they were out of step with the community, but it did not. Instead, they plowed ahead causing incredible and unnecessary trauma, blinded by their egos and desires to be the Board that finally brings the school closure discussions to an end. We couldn’t stand by and let that happen, so we organized.”

— Dune Ives, parent of a student at LP Brown Elementary

“During the CAC process, we were presented with 50 school closure scenarios. Repeatedly we stated that we did not want to close any schools, that we wanted to explore other options such as district reboundary, expense reductions, and alternative options for revenue. Those calls went unanswered.”

— Kelcy Shaffer, parent of a student at Jefferson Middle School and CAC member

“It was interesting to watch Superintendent Murphy dedicate nearly an entire School Board Working Session to debunking our solutions. Our group offered to meet to discuss these solutions both before and after the Forum, yet he has never engaged with our team. That tells us loud and clear that school closures have never been about budget deficits or 10-year enrollment projections.”

— Ben Edwards, parent of students at Lincoln Elementary School
